There Are Many Ways To Volunteer With Habitat for Humanity

"Volunteers are the key elements of why Habitat works" - It's "A helping hand up ... Not a hand out"

Out Reach Programs

A Helping Hand Up
The goal of Habitat is to eliminate poverty housing by providing decent affordable homes to low income families. This a large undertaking. The only way we will ever accomplish it is to reach out to as many individuals and groups as we can to help achieve our goal. Learn more about the various ways that you, your organization or business can partner with Fort Hood Area Habitat to achieve our goal.

Habitat Women Build Program
The Habitat for Humanity Women Build Program, underwritten by Lowe's  does not exclude men from volunteering, but seeks to include and empower women everywhere to address poverty housing for themselves, their families and their neighbors. The Fort Hood Area Habitat completed its recent Women Build on April 28, 2009.

Work Site Volunteer

Work Site Volunteer
The Site Supervisor and Crew Chief provide the direction, and teach you the skills to build a Habitat Home.  ALL volunteers, individuals and groups, are requested to coordinate with our main office before every volunteer day at the job site.  Remember: You The "Volunteers Are The Key Elements Of Why Habitat Works."

Work Site Lunches

Provide Lunch For Our Volunteers
Fashioned after an old style Barn Raising, volunteering on a work site includes lunch, graciously donated by many of our local resturants, school and civic organizations. A few of the local's who donate lunches to our worksite volunteers: Henderson's Resturant; El Chico's; Jason's Deli; Texas Land & Cattle; Applebee's; Bush's Chicken; AVID; Girl Scouts and The Rotary Club.

A heartfelt "Thank You" to all of our area Soldiers, Businesses, Donators, Resident  and Student Volunteers!

Donation  Wish List

Picture
Many people believe they can not help Habitat because they can't physically help or don't have the time. That is not correct because there are so many ways to help out your local Habitat. Even if you do not have time to come volunteer at our office, ReStore or jobsite, you can donate materials and money. We are asking  you to donate specific items each month. This may seem like a small request, however the less materials we have to purchase, the more time and money can be spent on building homes! Please deliver your donation to the Fort Hood Area Habitat office located at 2601 Atkinson Ave, Killeen, Texas 76543.
